Amrit
Vela Mandir &
Charitable
dispensary, Pune
|
|
Much of our work in the Pune Centre comprises humanitarian services that includes a charitable dispensary . We also have a place of worship (Amrit Vela Mandir) on the same site. As in the case for our other centres, this Mandir enables the Sindhis of Pune to come together and worship as a community.
The Mandir holds regular satsang programmes and also celebrates major festivals, as well as providing religious services for marriages, engagements, and the demise of loved ones. The timetable of activities can be obtained by contacting the volunteers. |

The charitable dispensary of the Mission in the Pune centre is
run with the kind courtesy of a number of doctors and specialists assisted by the management and devotees of the Mission.
The following are the comments straight from the doctor’s desk…
" It is indeed a pleasure to be associated with Holy Mission organisation which renders true service to the under-privileged, poor and needy people. I feel proud to be part of this Mission which not only endeavours to uplift the people spiritually but also attempts to attend to their physical health problems, thereby helping to create a healthier nation.
I am grateful in having an opportunity to earn the blessings of those children in society who would otherwise not be able to avail of expert medical services for financial reason".
- Child specialist (Dr. Darshan Mulchandani)
"I have been associated with Charitable Clinic of Holy Mission for about three years. I feel that the purpose of near total free treatment to the poor and the needy is well achieved in this organisation. The treatment goes on well beyond running free OPD. The patients are provided with medicines and real needy ones get enough financial assistance for investigations, hearing aids and operations, bringing them real relief (not mere advice). A couple of well organised camps in the past enhanced the image of the humanitarian work of Mission. I feel proud being associated with Holy Mission towards this noble cause".
- ENT specialist (Dr. Bakul Kotak)

"Every patient is a picture of God. To serve the sick is to serve the Lord. This is the driving force behind the several medical camps organised by the Holy Mission. I am proud to be a part of this institution from the day of its inception. The poor need a place where they can avail of medical attention without high cost that usually goes with it - this is provided here. We all work more like a family sharing each others pains and joys like a one big family. All my good wishes for carrying on this work to greater heights."
- Physician (Dr. Chanda Salgaoncar)
" My association with Holy Mission Clinic began in August 1993. Since then, we have been conducting the Free Eye OPD in which hundreds of patients are checked and we have done more than two hundred and fifty cataract and other eye operations free of cost, using best quality intraocular lens implant technique. After working with this clinic, I have stopped working with other clinics because I feel the difference between the working of other clinics and this one which is run with full dedication and hard work of the management. What is given here is not just medical care and medicines but a lot of love and care by these people which provides far better healing and cure of patients. It is my pleasure to work for the clinic and I would offer my services for a long time to come".
- Eye Specialist (Dr. Sanjay Tekawade)
" It has been a great pleasure to serve the Holy Mission. It is a mission where one can find genuine service towards the less fortunate children of God".
- Dentist (Dr. Amar Malkani)

" My association with Holy Mission over the last six years has been satisfying and enlightening. This has given me a unique opportunity to serve the needy for which I am very grateful. The organisation has contributed financial help towards scores of minor and major operations that I have performed on the patients. I sincerely hope and pray that this good work continues and more patients benefit from our cause".
- Gynaecologist (Dr. Kamal Advani)
" I joined Holy Mission Clinic in December 96. Initially I would come only once a week as I had many other assignments. On completing these assignments, I have dedicated two days a week. My experience with the patients has been wonderful and their getting relief is a beautiful reward. A lot of the credit goes to the hard work and dedication of close workers. They all deal with the patients with love and courtesy. The management at Holy Mission has always been open to suggestions and new ideas. My husband Dr. Sanjay Tekawade (Ophthalmologist) had great praise for the Mission. I too always felt inclined to be a part of this serving team. I am glad to be here as a doctor and as a friend in their social functions".
- Homeopath (Dr. Anjali Tekawade)
"I have been working with Holy Mission since 1994. It is a different experience. The people working here are really dedicated and caring. Their awareness towards social cause is admirable. I enjoy working with these people. I feel we need to improve a lot in medicine dispensing and availability of expensive drugs".
- Skin Specialist (Dr. A. Dudhbhate)
"I have been working in Holy Mission Charitable Clinic for the last two and a half years. During this period, I have found that this dispensary has given free treatment to very needy persons. People working in dispensary as well as in this institution are very cooperative. Recently, a free medical camp was organised in Amrit Vela Ashram in Khandala which benefited about 500 people. Medical treatment was given to the poor and needy and also free operations were performed by our well known Dr. Tekawade. Also, full medical check-up of these patients was done in Pune".
